
Unity College, Dimapur observed its 19th Freshers’ cum Annual Day on 6th September at the
College premises. The programme was chaired by Mr. Avitav Gupta, Asst. Prof., Department of
Commerce.
Dr. Lichumo Enie, Principal, Unity College, with a heartfelt welcome addressed the freshers by
exhorting them on the strengths and resources of the college, its mentorship, and encouraged
participation in both academic and extracurricular activities.
The Chief Guest, Shri. Rupin Sharma, IPS, Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland Police,
in his speech emphasized on the purpose of education, inculcation of new ideas, adoption of AI
for enhanced learning and also to be inquisitive in nature. He also felicitated the twelve Nagaland
University subject toppers and rank holders from the College, besides releasing the annual
college Journal and Magazine.
Speech on behalf of the seniors and freshers were delivered by Ms. Nukshilemla Lemtur (BA 5th
Semester, Education Major) and Mr. Rohtsupli Sangtam (BA 1st Semester, Political Science)
respectively. The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sumitra Chetri
(B.Com 5th Semester).
The panel of judges for the Mr. and Miss Fresher were Miss Veduvolu Khusoh, Entrepreneur &
Freelance Photographer, Mr. Imnamoa Ozukum, Mr. Dimapur 1st Runner Up S5 2025, and Dr.
Adani Ngullie, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Unity College. Mr. Peteneilhou
Loucu and Ms. Christie B. Nirola won the title of Mr. and Miss Fresher 2025 respectively.
