9-12 Sept 25 WDC Gender Sensitisation Week

The Women Development Cell, under the initiative of Gender Champions, successfully observed the “Gender Sensitization Week” from 9th to 13th September 2025 with the objective of fostering awareness, promoting gender equality, and building responsible student leaders within the college community.

The week commenced on 9th September 2025 (Day 1) with a talk on “Etiquettes and Social Graces.” The session was delivered by Mr. Martin, General Manager, The Layover Hotel, Dimapur, and Ms. Shanchobeni Odyuo, Faculty in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Bhavani Marketing Pvt. Ltd. The resource persons highlighted the importance of respectful behavior, professional etiquette, and inclusive social conduct in both personal and professional spaces. The session was highly interactive and well-received by the participants.

On 10th September 2025 (Day 2), a Basketball Shootout was organized to encourage participation, teamwork, and inclusivity through sports. Students actively engaged in the activity, promoting the spirit of equality and mutual respect.

The activities continued on 11th September 2025 (Day 3) with a Group Discussion on gender issues. Students enthusiastically shared their views on various gender-related challenges, stereotypes, and the need for an equitable society. The discussion created a platform for open dialogue and critical thinking.

On 12th September 2025 (Day 4), a Poster and Slogan Making Competition was conducted. Participants creatively expressed their ideas on gender equality, women empowerment, and social awareness through impactful visuals and messages.

The week concluded on 13th September 2025 (Day 5) with a visit to Green Park, where students carried out an awareness initiative to promote gender equality and disseminate important helpline numbers among the public. This outreach activity helped extend the impact of the program beyond the campus.

Overall, the “Gender Sensitization Week” was conducted successfully with active participation from students and faculty. The series of activities effectively contributed towards sensitizing students, encouraging responsible behavior, and strengthening the importance of gender equality in society.
