Women Development Cell in Collaboration with Faith Hospital and Institute of Medical Science observed World Cancer Awareness Month on 25Th October 2024 at 2:30 pm from the Seminar Hall.
The program was well-attended by both teacher and non-teaching female faculty members and female students, numbering 59.
The resource person for the event was Dr. Venkata, MD, in Medical Oncology. He educated the gathering on the key subject of cancer, addressing the underlying causes of cancer, its signs and symptoms, diagnostic measures, strategies of risk reduction and its prevention. He also presented a database of cancer cases in India and particularly in Nagaland, aligning it with the common cases of cancer found in Women, such as breast and Cervical cancer. The speaker concluded the session by addressing the queries raised by the attendees.
