Unity College observed 8th Cultural Day on 19th December 2024 under the theme ‘Roots and Resilience’. Dr. Lichumo Enie, Principal, Unity College, in his welcome speech emphasized on the importance of preserving, and appreciating one’s unique cultural roots, and also respecting the diversity of cultures around us.
The vibrant and colorful programme showcased the rich cultures and traditions of our Nation, through performances comprising of a Lotha Folk Song (Sükying Potsow), The Khujao -The Three Stars, a Tangkhul Folk tale, Angami Folk Dance- Pheta, Long Drum Presentation -Tongden, Zeliangrong Folk Drama- The story of Nsing, Assamese Folk Dance – Seksiki Porua, Bihu Special, Ni a chokatso, the Nort-East Harmony and Manipuri Folk Dance.
Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Cultural Secretary, UCSC, followed by Heritage Club Exhibition, after which the Cultural Day was culminated with a bonfire.
