Women Development Cell

About the Committee

The Women Development Cell at Unity College, originally established in 2014 under the name “Women Cell,” is dedicated to shaping the young women force on campus to dream, act, and achieve success in their lives. Serving as a platform for discussing women-related issues, the cell fosters dialogue and deliberation on a wide range of topics, from women empowerment to environmental concerns.

A core focus of the cell is to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students. It is mandated to prevent gender discrimination and inappropriate sexual conduct within the campus. Additionally, the cell handles and investigates all complaints related to sexual harassment, ensuring a fair and just resolution for both boys and girls.

Furthermore, the Women Development Cell serves as a facilitator for young girls on campus, advocating for a culture of respect and equality for female genders. It provides a platform for intellectual, social, moral, and economic upliftment, aiming to promote positive values, self-respect, and a healthy lifestyle among students.

Activities organized by the cell include Gender Sensitization Week, seminars, and awareness programs, skill enhancement workshops, and observing important calendar days as directed by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Through these initiatives, the Women Development Cell endeavors to promote gender sensitization, raise awareness of women’s rights, and enhance the overall well-being of students.
