The Department of Economics, Unity College, in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Immanuel College, celebrated National Entrepreneurs’ Day on 1st November 2025 at Unity College under the theme “Empowering Dreams and Building Futures.”
The event aimed to promote entrepreneurial awareness and encourage students to think innovatively and sustainably. The key highlight of the programme was a Business Plan Presentation Competition, in which a total of four groups participated — 3 from Unity College and 1 from Immanuel College.
The participants from Immanuel College — Ms. Pheam Wangsha, Ms. Honglen P and Ms. Khriengu Kense — emerged as the winners. The Second Prize was awarded to the team from Unity College represented by Ms. Tokali Awomi and Mr. Mulai, students of B.A. 3rd Semester.
The winners received cash prizes and certificates, while all participants were presented with certificates of participation.
The Resource Person and Judge for the competition was Ms. Aien Jamir, Proprietor of Rustique Edge and Yen Lu. Ms. Jamir provided valuable feedback on the business presentations, commending the students for their creativity and practical approach. She encouraged the participants to think long-term and to develop sustainable business models that could contribute positively to society. She also emphasized the importance of sustainability in entrepreneurship and shared how it aligns with her own professional journey and goals.
In total, 48 students and 4 faculty members from both colleges attended the programme, making it a successful celebration that fostered collaboration, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit among young minds.
