The Music Club at Unity College was established in the year 2020, initially comprising 30 members. Since its inception, the club has been actively involved in various musical endeavors, participating in major events including both inter and intra-college competitions, both within the state and beyond. Additionally, club members enthusiastically contribute to college activities, enriching the campus with their musical talents. One of the pivotal platforms provided by the Music Club is the Unity Voice Hunt, which serves as an important avenue for students to showcase and leverage their musical abilities.
The objectives of the Music Club are multifaceted. Firstly, it aims to enhance extracurricular activities alongside academic pursuits, providing students with a well-rounded educational experience. Furthermore, the club endeavors to nurture young music enthusiasts, offering mentorship for those aspiring towards a professional career in music.
The club seeks to create unique, challenging, and diverse performances that incorporate melodies, voices, and musical instruments. It strives to uncover the musical ingenuity within each individual member, fostering creativity and self-expression while building confidence and identifying untapped talents.
Moreover, the Music Club is committed to enriching the campus community through various initiatives such as workshops, acoustic concerts, festivals, and programs. These endeavors not only provide opportunities for traditional and contemporary musical expression by students but also feature guest artists, further enhancing the musical landscape of the college.
Unity College is recognized by the Government of Nagaland vide notification No. HTE/5-3/2002 dated 11th Dec. 2007 and is permanently affiliated to Nagaland University vide notification No. NU-CDC/C-52-2007-2801 dated 12th Sept. 2012.
