Report on the Departmental Educational Trip to the Community Forest, Seithekema Village.

On 26th August 2024, the Department of Environmental Science, Unity College, conducted an educational trip to the community forest in Seithekema Village, Chumoukedima. The field trip was organised to fulfill part of the students curriculum ie, BSc practical work, which included study a forest.The students studied the forest structure, laid quadrats for quantitative study of the trees and measured the basal areas of the individual trees to find the dominant species of the area. A total of 17 students participated in the departmental field trip.
