Anti-Ragging and Grievances Redressal Committee (ARGR)

About the Committee

This Committee is specially formed to prevent any form of Ragging within the College premises and to ensure that every Grievances is handled in utmost responsibility. We all see that the guide lines are followed by the students to create an environment free of Ragging.

 The Committee has been established to send a strong message to prevent, eliminate and to deal with any student indulging in undisciplined activities which can or likely cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harming, apprehension to any fresher or to any other student, any conduct by a student or students by words or by any act which has the effect of teasing, treating and handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student in the college.

The Committee deals in cases of any act which can have the effect of causing shame, embarrassment or torment to any fresher or to any student. It also includes any act by a senior student which can prevent, disrupts or disturbs regular academic activity and to any act of physical abuse that includes sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, and stripping, forcing obscene lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or danger to anybody.

 The Committee redresses any grievances faced by any student. Grievances relating to academic, financial matters, canteen, sanitation, transport etc.

Therefore the Committee is trying to put an end to the evils of ragging that can lead to depression, suicidal tendency, physical harm etc. that may damage the good reputation of the college in general and the student in particular.

  1. The Unity College Anti-Ragging/Grievances Redressal Committee was restructured to function effectively with seven members on 26th August, 2021 to resume the Objectives laid down by the Committee.
  2. The Committee seek to redress any kind of Grievances faced by any student.
  3. It also conduct awareness campaign in order to keep the students well informed.
  4. Any Grievances should not be uploaded in social media instead should be brought to the attention of the Committee.
  5. Curb the menace of ragging within the institution as per the UGC regulations vide Regulation No. F 1-16/2007(CPP-11) April 2009.
  6. To root out ragging in all its forms from the institution and prohibiting it by law and preventing its occurrence.
  7. To look into the complaints lodged by any student and to judge its merits.
  8. To look into matters of verbal, physical and mental harassment
  9. To encourage students to express their grievances/problems freely and frankly
  10. To create awareness to the students and faculties.
