To commemorate and honour the United Nations’ General Assembly adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948, the Department of Political Science, Unity College Dimapur observed the International Human Rights Day on 10th December, 2025 with the Theme “Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials” seeking to reaffirm the enduring relevance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its core value. Ms. Chuten BA 6th Semester Politics Science Honors chaired the program. The program observation was a documentary Video campaign highlighted the two aspects of Human Rights: the awareness campaign of Human Rights and the Violation of Human Rights in Nagaland by the Indian Armed Forces during 1960s with reference to Matikhru, a Pochury Village where the Army went on a rampage and started mass killing in which left nine dead.
The programme was attended by 70 students along with the faculties and enriched the participations with more awareness about the Human Rights, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the observation of Human Right Day every year.
