Examination System

30 marks Internal Assessment is conducted and evaluated by the College for every semester,

70 marks End Term Examination is conducted by University and evaluated by the college for Semester I, II, III and V.

End Term Semester Examination for IV and VI is conducted and evaluated by the University,

No students is allowed to sit in the V semester unless he/she passes in the IV semester,

Pass marks – 45% both in Internal Assessment and End Term Exam in Theory paper and 55% in every practical paper.

Credit system: A minimum of 90/120 Credits for Pass and Honors Course for Arts stream, and 120/100 Credits for Pass and Honors Course for Science Stream,

Grand Total marks: 1200/1400 for Pass and Honors Course for all streams of study,

A Seven Point Grading System shall be followed i.e. ‘O’ Grade = 80% marks and above, ‘A’ Grade 70 – 79.99%, ‘B’ Grade = 60 to 69.99% ‘C’ = 55 to 59.99%, ‘D’ = 50 to 54.99%, ‘E’ Grade = 45 to 49.99%, ‘F’ Grade = 44.99% and below which means failed.

A provision for Choice Based Credit System (C.B.C.S) on selective area is also an option. 
 

Internal Assessment

Internal Assessment plays a vital role to improve the Percentage of marks.  Assessment in the form of assignments, test, presentations, etc is conducted in each subject in a Semester.

30 marks Internal Assessment is conducted and evaluated by the college for every semester. 

 

Assessments are done in the following manner:

Department Activity – 2.5 marks 

Inter Department Activity – 2.5 marks

Assignment – 5 Marks

Presentation – 5 Marks

Class Test – 5 Marks

Mid Term – 10 marks

As per university regulations if a student fails to secure a minimum of 45% of the Internal assessment (13.5/30) such a student will not be eligible to appear for the university exam. Students securing less than 45% of the Internal Assessment marks in any subject shall not be eligible to appear for the University external examination. However, the Head of the Department may arrange for the improvement of Internal Assessment marks in the subject /subjects and the student be provided an opportunity for appearing the examination in the same semester. The Internal Assessment marks list shall be displayed on the Notice Board before filling up of University External Exam forms.
