National Cadet Corps (NCC)

About the club

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) stands as one of India’s premier youth organizations, tracing its origins back to its establishment on July 16th, 1948, through an Act of Parliament. With a mission to cultivate the immense potential and talent of the country’s youth, the NCC provides a platform for character development, leadership, and service to the nation.

At Unity College, the NCC chapter was inaugurated in 2011 with a commitment to nurturing students’ personalities, instilling discipline, and fostering soft skills essential for their personal and professional growth. The primary objective of the NCC unit is to inspire students to join the Armed Forces while also imparting values such as character, comradeship, and a spirit of selfless service.

Under the administrative oversight of 1 Nagaland Girls BN NCC Kohima, the NCC unit at Unity College has consistently upheld its mandate since its inception. Through a combination of military and non-military training, cadets are equipped with essential skills and knowledge to excel in various fields of life. Additionally, the unit actively engages in social service activities and commemorates national and international events, instilling a sense of civic responsibility and global awareness among its members.

Central to the functioning of the NCC unit is the Associate Officer (ANO), who serves as a vital link between the educational institution and the NCC Battalion, ensuring seamless coordination and support for the cadets.
